Great challenging course. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour so late in the year as we lost a fair few balls on the fairway. Would like to play it in the summer when hopefully the ground would be firmer. Greens nice and consistent.
If I'd played better would have been more enjoyable despite starting in snow

BK in the formerLittle Chef building. Reasonable choice but not as broad as McD's. Pricey.
This Burgerking is small but great, seats around 4-6 people total and shares the building with a café/shop. So you can grab a few chocolatey snacks and a bottle of pop for the journey home

Three stars refers to the pub. Two would be too mean. Little ambiance inside from what I could see. Very bare and clinical. Understand it's been refurbished by brewery and turned into a little hotel. You walk past the front doors of some of the hotel rooms as you enter the pub. The building itself from the outside from a distance, or the road, looks very inviting, big disappointment inside. Good local beer though. And back outside they have ancient, or even older, stone circles in the field next to the enormous car park. Probably not so old as I could see drilling holes on them so they must be just an example of the local stone. Which admittedly, is lovely. Great views too across the country too. Only reason I'd go back but there are plenty of other pubs to choose from in the area. I prefer a canal or river location.
Great food ... great service ... very basic rooms
